Wilsonia Meadows has been part of the Boss family since the early 1990s. What began as a mountain gathering place is now being thoughtfully restored with a broader purpose: creating a place where autism families can experience the peace, privacy, and restorative qualities of the mountains together.
Living with autism changed the way our family understands nature. Quiet places matter. Flexible environments matter. Time away from the demands of everyday life matters.
For many families raising children with autism or other developmental disabilities, even a weekend away can feel complicated. Public spaces are often overstimulating. Simple outings require planning, constant attention, and the emotional weight of feeling watched or misunderstood.
Wilsonia Meadows is being restored with those families in mind. It is not a clinic, a school, or a large retreat center. It is an intentionally small mountain retreat where families can slow down, reconnect, and simply enjoy being together.
Wilsonia Meadows exists because every family deserves a place where they feel welcome, accepted, and free to experience the mountains without needing to explain themselves.
